Last night the boys voted to attend Worth Ranch for summer camp this year. Mr. Powell has reserved the week of June 22nd for us. You can read more about the camp at http://www.longhorncouncil.org/camp/worth_ranch/index.htm - it should be lots of fun.

Silver Pines (Youth Leadership Training)

Posted: Oct 2 2007 - 10:54am

Our troop committee has decided to partially subsidize youth attending Silver Pines, our council's youth leadership program, this winter. This takes place at the same time as Winter Camp, so it's an either/or decision. It is a seven-day, six-night outdoor experience for youth leaders; the new syllabus integrates the best of modern leadership theory with the traditional strengths of the Scouting experience. Through activities, presentations, challenges, discussions, and audio-visual support, participants will be engaged in a unified approach to leadership that will give them the skills and confidence to lead well.
